Sigal, you have been an amazing influence on my husband and me. I feel as though you have been with us every step of the way. Sending us pertinent reading material and informative videos has helped us understand how and why a person becomes addicted. My husband will always need some form of pain relief and in the beginning we never thought how much a prescribed medication could affect a person. It has been nearly three years since the accident but the effects of his injuries and the medications that doctors prescribe cannot be avoided. With the information you gave us, we both have learned ways to cope with the good days and bad days of recovery. Both from the injury as well as from the addiction to medications doctors have him on. Always hopeful....

Dear Sigal,
Thank you for the great job you are doing. I spoke to you a few months ago and am still working hard to help my son get his life back.
He is currently in a nursing home and being given Cymbalta, Depakote ,Trazadone and Zyprexa. He had been given 300mg Seroquel and I asked them to take him off of that and that I wanted to see him tapered off all medicines. Of course the Dr. doesn't agree with me as I am not a professional.
I want to see my son well and independant but don't know that this is the right place to be. He is attending Gateway meetings three times a week and for that I am grateful. It looks like I must stick with this plan but would like to see him in a MISA live-in program
program where he could do work and get off drugs completely.
Just thought I would give you an update and Wish you a very Happy New Year.
Thank you for the work you are doing.....Kay

Dear Cathy,

Thank you for your comment on my blog. I would be more than happy to help you. I have some good suggestions and even places that might accept him at no cost. I sent you an email so look for it and if I could talk to you, that would speed up getting the right information to you.

My direct line is 888-800-8331.

My best,
Sigal Adini

My 25 year old son has relapsed and his drug addiction is worse than before. I want to get him into a detox center or program. He has no insurance and I will not pay for it, but he needs it. He is going to NA meetings, although, not regularly. Anyway, I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Are there any programs for his needs and how do I find them? Thanks for you assistance.
